The sky is the limit: ExxonMobil and Porsche have supported young entrepreneurs

Late last year ExxonMobil and Porsche jointly with Russia’s highly popular techno-blogger Wylsacom (Valentin Petukhov) carried out a project, The Sky is the Limit. Wylsacom launched a contest for the best startup among its subscribers and received over 250 video pitches in merely three days of the qualification round. The authors of three projects that made it to the final try-out turned up at the Moscow Raceway in order to present their projects to Valentin Wylsacom in unusual conditions: during one lap of the track done by Porsche 911 Carrera 4s accelerating to 100 km per hour in 3.6 seconds with a professional driver at the wheel.

“It is hard to concentrate at the race track – you think about the next turn, rather than storytelling. Still, I have apparently managed to deliver my story fairly well. I have been involved in multiple pitch presentations, and each time speaking in public would get my adrenaline going, but here… that was something different,” said the contest winner Valery Sharipov who presented the concept of his Malivar project for creating virtual humans. The founder of a startup business of manufacturing smart toys for kids, Not Just a Toy, Serafim Pikalov took the second place. The third-place winner was Mikhail Gerasimov with his project for commercializing the LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technique.

“I was thrilled with the idea of the joint project and procedure: we found an uncommon way of demonstrating the brand value through an interesting story. The hardest part was to select the contenders: the overall response to the contest invitation was enthusiastic and we received numerous interesting ideas,” Valentin Petukhov said in a statement. Valentin Wylsacom will offer useful recommendations and provide support to the finalists in promoting their ideas in the media.

Having demonstrated good stamina and the ability of clear thinking in extreme conditions young entrepreneurs proved by personal example that The Sky is the Limit. Maximum performance for an outstanding driving experience and the pursuit of perfection – that is the philosophy behind the collaboration of the two strong brands, ExxonMobil and Porsche.

ExxonMobil and Porsche have been working together for 25 years. Since 1996, every Porsche car leaves the factory filled with Mobil 1™ engine oil. To ExxonMobil, collaboration with Porsche signifies recognition of high-performance quality of its Mobil 1™ oil and also presents a challenge: Porsche race cars series require motor oil made to more stringent specifications.

ExxonMobil and Porsche have always been and still are connected with motor sports and are still working on continued improvement of oil quality for modern engines. It is not by chance that their partnership fulfilled itself in the Porsche Mobil 1™ Super cup supporting the Formula-1 World Championship, regularly held since 1993.

ExxonMobil and Porsche have recently announced commencement of tests of advanced biofuels and renewable, lower-carbon eFuel as part of a new agreement to find new solutions for customers.

In Russia, Mobil and Porsche brand collaboration is developing in a number of key areas: marketing, communication, and post-sale service.
